EDITIONS LES ARESQUIERS
Véronique Agostini has many years’ experience of intaglio printing, and has specialised in relief printing (on wood or linoleum) and the ancestral Japanese art of Suminagashi (floating ink).
Based on her highly graphic prints, she chooses to present her work in a variety of forms, including kakemonos, folding screens, light fittings and as designs for fabric.
Each piece is unique.
“In touch with the natural world around me, I compose an imaginary space-time in which decoration-language comes to life, as it has done ever since the dawn of humanity, as attested to by Migration Period art, with its symbols, curves, dots and rhythm, like life.
I develop a strategy that ‘recreates’ the print and its aesthetic in its intersection with other forms: design, textile arts, interior decoration.”
